The Toronto ACM SIGAPL will hold a panel on Web Programming on Tuesday, November 25th, 1997 which is open to the public.

Each panelist will be given up to a half-hour to speak on the subject of his interest/expertise. Following these 3 presentations, the panelists will then reply to the statements made by the others and discuss among themselves their various viewpoints. Then the discussion will be opened to the floor for comments and questions by those in the audience.

FRANK WILLIAMS is a professional web programmer who has been "living and breathing" The Web for several years. He is currently a manager of a team of web programmers at ISTAR who are mainly concerned with database applications on The Web, the subject of Frank's presentation.

One of Manuel's chief concerns is security issues in interfacing with The Web, which will be the topic of his presentation. Manuel is also involved in an effort to establish a Toronto chapter of the Webmaster's Guild, and he may have a few words to say on this subject as well.

DAN MALONEY is an independent contractor with extensive experience programming in C, C++ and Object-Oriented applications. He also teaches a JAVA course at Ryerson Polytechnical University. Dan will discuss JAVA, CORBA and the trend towards the networking of distributed objects on The Web.
